I am an artist and landscape painter whose
paintings depict the beauty of the western United States - its mountains, rugged
coast, creeks, rivers, valleys, deserts, rockscapes, farmlands, orchards, and vineyards.
I also paint wherever I travel and am showing some paintings from France
and Greece. Many of my landscape paintings are painted
"en plein air", or outside on location.
While the major focus of my art is the
landscape, my work includes the figure, animals, still lifes, and other subjects of
interest to me. Some of my current work is conceptual and very
abstract, pursuing my interest in the illumination of detail, a theme I
explored in college.
To me, being an artist is all about visually
expressing my own experiences and perceptions...and as I love new
discoveries and am stimulated by variety, this manifests in my work.
My paintings are
oils on linen, canvas, board, or paper as well as watercolor, encaustic, gouache,
charcoal, ink, and other mediums. Please browse this site to see
examples of my work.
